A Sunday Afternoon that was Out Of This World

I received press passes to facilitate this post.

Out of this World Gifts

Their mouths were locked open for a good 15 minutes. Luckily we were inside, so no flies made residence during their shock. Acrobatics, fire, lions, ice skating – it was all magical to a 2-year-old and 4-year-old.

We took them to the new reimagined circus experience, Ringling Bros. Out Of This World.

Bear’s first circus experience was back in 2013 when we took her along with my niece and nephew to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Built to Amaze show. We enjoyed tat experience, but Bear wasn’t even 1 yet and Little Man was just a dream. Out Of This World really took the circus to the next level, mixing immersive technology with ice skating while staying true the circus trademarks of aerial acrobats, animals and silly clowns.

This show was a little scarier than the last circus. They played up the storyline part of the show more so and included was the evil queen (this show has the first-ever character-driven storyline). Sometimes I should just keep my mouth quiet, but I go so excited for my Elsa-loving toddler, that I leaned over and whispered in her ear – Look honey! A princess! At which point, the “princess” gave out an evil chuckle and I had to do damage control. A week later, Bear is still talking about how mean the queen was at the Cavs game (the Cavs play at The Q, the venue where the circus took place).

The length of the show was nearly perfect. My kids started getting a little restless around an hour and a half into the show (since it was story-driven). We had to “take a walk” at that point, so we ventured to the concourse blanketed with a plethora of souvenir vendors. Bear and Little Man were allowed to pick out one toy each. Bear opted for the horse (for her dolls) and Little Man picked out the motorcycle (the one act I didn’t see because I was on a Dippin’ Dots mission at the time).

We headed home after that, and the kids both fell asleep in the car. That’s a true testimonial to a good time!

This show runs through May of 2017. For show schedule and tickets, visit Ringling.com.
